More About My Cat

Hello Batlings!                                                                                                                                          Today, I would like to tell you more about my cat...

Princess
(Sorry About The Blurriness, She Is NOT Cooperative With Photos)

So, Princess has outgrown her pickiness phase; she now thinks that if anyone has any piece of food, then it must be for her! And if someone pulls the food away from her, then that must mean they want her to follow them, meowing her head off.

Princess is the only cat allowed in my parents'  bedroom, because she behaves like one of our dogs; Princess will stay next to me and cuddle, and she doesn't scratch up my moms' cloths, or jump on the dressers! For your information, my sisters' cats have scratched up cloths and jumped on dressers.

Princess's Cave
(Princess Sleeps In It Every Night)

As I've mentioned in a previous post, Princess loves 'caves'; whether it's a cat tree, a box, or an old nightstand.

Princess's Teddy Bear
(This Is Justin. Princess Loves Justin)

Princess loves to cuddle, so I got her Justin. Princess loves Justin so much, that she won't pick him up in her mouth, for fear of breaking him.

If you want to hear more about Princess, comment about what you want to know!

The Fluffy Files: My Little Princess

 Hello Batlings!

Today, I want to tell you about...

Princess
(My Pet Cat, Princess, With Her Sock, Mr. Playtime)

Princess loves to meow at me, and she loves when I meow back.

Princess thinks that she is a dog; she chases her tail, she plays tug-o-war, she likes attention, and she loves being petted.

Princess wobbles when she walks, and has trouble jumping down from things; we moved the cat food bowl to the floor, and are keeping our dogs from eating it.

Princess loves sleeping in 'caves'; her favorite sleeping spots have three walls, a roof, and a soft bed.

Princess is very curious; she will smell everything, trying to figure out what things are.

Despite her curiosity, Princess will not recognize most things as food; my sister put some cereal in the cat food, and our other cats munched down on it, but Princess kept trying to dig the cereal away from the food!

I love Princess (from her little nose to her black-tipped tail), what do YOU think of Princess? Please comment with your- *Meow?* Princess, get away from the keyboard! As I was saying, please comment with your ideas!

Goodbye, Cat-lings!

The Fluffy Files: Rosemary Scout

Hello Batlings!
Today, I want to tell you about a little friend of mine...

Rosemary Scout

I met Scout while on vacation; she loves to travel.
After vacation, we went our separate ways; we met again a couple days ago.

Scout has recently undergone a name change; I can't even remember what her name used to be!

Scout is very adventurous, and very sneaky; she enjoys hiding in my purse when I leave the house.

Scout's favorite color is dark blue, and she hates getting her fur messed up.
Her favorite foods are mangos, bananas, and nectar; she is the only little brown bat that hates bugs.
Scout LOVES flying; she as-well HATES crashing.

What do you think of Scout? Do you share any of her interests? Please comment about it!

MORE FLUFFY FILES WILL BE APPEARING SOON, SO STAY IN-TUNE!

Goodbye, Batlings!

The World According To Kitty Korah

Hello Catlings!

For this post, I will be pretending to be my sister, Kitty; I will tell you about the world according to her, including the fact that she thinks it should belong to her.

So, let's begin!

Mwa-ha-ha ha! Blah-blah-blah! Crazy words! Mustache! Are you ready to hear my opinions? Because I'm going to tell you them, whether you are or not!

Animals, according to me!
All animals love me more than they love anyone else, they all obey my every command, and non of them are as smart as my cat, Meowzza (pronounced Mouzza), because the she's the smartest animal EVER!

Facts, according to me!
My opinions are fact, everyone else is just wrong!

Playtime/chore balance, according to ME!!!
Playtime RULES! Chores DROOL! (Why can't we just get a maid?).

Life, according to me.
Life is a beautiful thing, and should not be wasted; every moment possible should be spent doing something, and life should have a purpose! I will be the greatest space engineer/genetic engineer EVER!

Note: the opinions expressed in this post do not necessarily reflect the opinions of this blog's author, Ari.k.

As your queen, I order you to comment, follow, and share!

Goodbye Catlings!

Evolution Theory #3: Symbiotic Floatiness

 Hello Batlings!

I have somewhat of a ridiculous theory, but it just might be true.

Long ago, some ammonites used air pockets in their shells to float

(Picture from the internet)

The fact that ammonites used air got me thinking; they used air because it's less dense than water, so could something on land do the same thing with something less dense than air?

What if there was a plant that produced helium to spread it's seeds farther? (More on that in another theory). Creatures that ate the plant might be able to use the helium to do the same thing as the ammonite; such a creature would normally have the helium dispersed through it's blood, but could then concentrate it in pockets to float, just like the ammonite!

These creatures might even be able to sleep while floating! They could even develop a symbiotic relationship with the original plant, spreading the plant's seeds through their waste, and staying close to the plants in general.

The benefits to this adaptation are obvious; they could float, without using the energy it normally takes to fly with wings; they could sleep in a position where few predators could get to them (so long as they didn't run out of helium); and it would be harder for them to drown.

What do you think of my theory? Could it happen? Please comment your thoughts and feelings!

Goodbye Batlings!

A Little Bit More About Me

Hello Batlings!
Today, I want to tell you a bit more about me, flaws and all!

1. I'm Funny
As you may have noticed, I love making jokes! My favorite type of jokes are puns, or play on words! What do you call a red-headed gardener with sharp finger nails? Rose!

2. I'm easily Stressed
You most likely don't know this, but I am VERY easily stressed! A lot of people all talking at once, not being able to understand something, or, worst of all, being BORED, all stress me out quicker than light from the sun gets to the earth! I've been working on this, but it still causes problems sometimes.

3. I'm Smart
I know a lot of people say this about themselves, but it's true; I am really smart! Yes, I'm too young to have a lot of knowledge, but that doesn't mean I'm not smart; I know that we're going to mars within the next decade, I know that the world can be dangerous (and amazing), I know that watching violence and gore is bad for your brain, and I have been saying for years that the laws of physics aren't the same across the universe.

4. I'm Terrible About Brushing My Hair
I have had trouble with my hair since I born! I'll forget to brush it, I won't brush it all the way, or I'll brush it so much it'll frizz up and get split ends! And no matter how much I brush it, by the end of the day, it looks like it hasn't been brushed in a week! Because of my trouble brushing it, I've gotten somewhat paranoid about it get tangled, wet, or *Shudder* DIRTY! Dun-du-daa!

5. I'm Creative
Ever heard of a Wooplesnop? That's because I just made it up; it's green, with large purple spots! It has the head of a dog, the body of an octopus, and is completely covered in fur! It does not have a octopus beak, and is amphibious.

6. I'm Bad At Talking To People
I have never met a non-family member that I really liked; so, when I was younger, I decided to stop talking to other kids unless I had to, meeting potential friends through my sisters, who didn't mind that most kids liked stupid things. An un-foreseen side effect, is that I get so worried about how to say something to someone I don't know, that I never actually say it! I am getting better at this, and it is NOT from being homeschooled, because I still would've thought that the other kids were violent, stupid, or obsessed with their looks, even if I had been in school. This little problem is actually one reason I started this blog, to learn more about others, and to let them learn more about me, before I ever end up maybe talking to them.

7. I'm Good With Words
And to end things on a good (yet ironic) note, I may be bad at talking to people I don't know, but I am great with words (most of the time). I will go back and change things a lot, constantly thinking of better sounding ways to say things; I won't always hit the mark, but I'll try my hardest to make the things I write look and sound amazing!

(Notes: I may be bad at talking to people I don't know, but I will have long, deep conversations and debates with people I know and care about! And yes, I did come up with the Wooplesnop as I was writing it :))

What do you think? Am I being honest, and telling you the truth? well, no matter what I say, you should always have a bit of doubt; it's good for you! I am telling the truth about myself, flaws and all, but it's up to you to decide if you believe it or not.

Goodbye Batlings! Flaws and all, you're still most likely AMAZING!

Things To Remember

Hello Batlings!                                                                                                                                      Today, I want to tell you my opinions on how to live a healthy, happy, and full life!

A Random Symbol Of Life

(Created On My Computer By Me, Ari Korah)

Be Prideful

I hate it when people say 'don't be prideful'. Pride is a good thing; be proud of your accomplishments, be proud of your family, be proud of your abilities, just don't act like you're better than everyone else.

Be Curious

Curiosity is life; it's what inspires us to explore, to discover, to learn, and, ultimately, to survive. If anyone tells you that curiosity killed the cat, just respond with 'How?'; they will not have an answer, proving that they were never curious enough to find out.

Be Strong

Strength can come in many forms; physical strength, strength of mind, strength of will, all of which are important, and should be exercised to their fullest potential.

Be Peaceful

One of my mothers has a saying, It's better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war; but I think it's more important to be a warrior in a war, and a gardener in a garden. Everyone should know how to defend themselves and others, and everyone should be willing to fight for what's truly worth it, but you should never go looking for a fight, and should try to avoid fighting when you can.

(Note: My mom believes in peace, as I do, I was just using her expression for emphasis)

Be Respectful

Many people complain that they don't get enough respect, but then they don't respect anyone else; you should not give your respect to those who are cruel, but everyone else deserves respect, albeit some more than others. Don't be mean to everyone, then expect them to be nice to you; that's not how it works.

Be True

Be true to your family, be true to your friends, be true to your partner (if you have one), and be true to yourself, and your morals; only break your own ethics if there is absolutely no other choice, never betray family, don't disrespect your friends, and you'll be surprised at what can happen.

Bonus! Always put your family before anyone else, and they'll always have your back. Don't give your trust out to someone who hasn't earned it. Remember to have fun, and live long and prosper (even if you aren't a Trekkie!).

Comment on ways you live healthy, happy, and full lives!

A Contest For Siblings

Hello Batlings!
It has come to my attention that a trope has spread around; a trope of siblings hating each other, sometimes even trying to KILL one another!
Most siblings are not like this; most siblings LOVE each other more than anyone else.

I am lucky enough to have the two best little sisters in all of existence; I would jump off a bridge into boiling lava for them, as any sister, brother, or other would.

There are many people who do not have siblings; when they see sibling rivalries on the internet, they think that siblings actually hate each other.

I am holding a contest; write a comment about a memory you have of your siblings, the best ones will be posted on this blog with the headline 'Good Times With Siblings'.

(To enter a comment, write 'My Good Memory'; by writing this, you are consenting to having your comment and name posted on this blog).

Here is my 'entry' (It is just an example, and will not be in the contest):

'My Good Memory: My sisters and I often sing songs together; with Kitty singing lead, and Griffon and I singing back-up. We often change the lyrics or tune, and some of the best times we have spent together have been (literally) filled with song! :).'

The comments can be a specific story, or just something you love about your siblings; so what are you waiting for? Get commenting!!!

(No nudity, sex, extreme violence, or insulting others).

Goodbye Batlings!!!

My New Haircut!

Hello Batlings!
Today, I wanted to share with you something amazing!
Yesterday, I got my second EVER major haircut! (My mom did it, and it looks awesome!)

Me, Wearing A Necklace, Which I Don't Normally Do Because My Hair Was So Long That It Got Caught On Everything
(I Look Awesome!)

The necklace I'm wearing is a locket; my sisters each have a matching one.

This is the second time I've ever gotten more than just a trim; both times, my mom cut my hair.

Hello Batlings!

Little one, the day is done,
let's have some fun,
in dreamland.
Yes, dreamland.
Do you understand?
Dreamland.

I'll meet you by the fountain of imagination,
on the space-station of dreams.
Because,

Little one, the day is done,
let's have some fun,
in dreamland.
Do you understand?
Dreamland.
Yes, dreamland.

My Six Favorite Pokemon

Hello Batlings!
This post is about my Six favorite pokemon!

Espeon
(I Got This Picture From The Internet)

Espeon are a psychic type, bond with their trainers, and are small enough to cuddle with; if they could fly, they would be my perfect pet!

Psychic is my favorite type; they use telepathy and telekinesis, and usually look really cool.

It is said that the first espeon evolved to protect their trainer.

Espeon represent the sun, and the warmth and energy it brings.

Espeon are loyal, mystical, smart, and powerful; and thus, they win the spot as my favorite pokemon.

Eevee
(Picture I Got From The Internet)

Eevees have the most evolutions of any pokemon, are adorable, and generally are pleasant to be around.

Eevees have so much potential; eight different paths to take, eight different sets of powers, eight different lives to choose.

Eevees are usually curious, fun-loving, and they look like a fox; that, coupled with their potential, have earned them a place in my heart.

Umbreon
(Picture I Got From The Internet)

Umbreon are the lights in dark, shining stars within the night.

Umbreon are the night; and I LOVE the night.

Many people see umbreon as representing the dark; but I think they represent the light that shines within the dark

An umbreon's rings glow in the dark, lighting up the night in a beautiful and unique way.

Umbreon are the light that make the dark bearable, earning them a place as one of my favorite pokemon.

Noivern
(Picture I Got From The Internet)

Noivern are giant, bat-like, and can use sound to attack.

Noivern's unevolved form, noibat, are super cute!

Noivern are non-vampire bats, that have powers, and you can ride them; what reason is there not to like them?!

If I was in the pokemon universe, I would hatch a noibat and raise it into a noivern.

Noivern are bats, they look cool, they have powers, you can ride them, and they fly; they truly deserve being one of my favorite pokemon.

Rotom
(Picture I Got From The Internet)

Rotom are one of the few 'ghost' type pokemon that I like.

Rotom can enter and control different pieces of technology; it is most likely because they are pure energy.

Rotom can enter more than just the tech people usually list; one rotom entered an elevator, and another entered a pokedex! (Rotom Dex on Pokemon: Sun And Moon).

Rotom have more intelligence than most pokemon; and some are smarter than most humans (one time-traveled using an elevator and his own body).

I would have a rotom dex, if I could.

Rotom are intelligent, powerful, made of energy, and should be called electric and normal because it's made of energy; they are one of my favorite pokemon (and one of the few 'ghost' types that I don't think should be removed from the show).

Smeargle
(Picture I Got From The Internet)

Smeargles are adorable, creative, and unique.

Smeargle can copy their opponents' moves, making them extremely powerful.

Smeargle love to paint and express themselves.

Smeargle have an adorable and unique design.

Smeargle are powerful, love to create, and have a cool design; they truly are one of my favorite pokemon.

Which are your favorite pokemon? Please comment!

Goodbye Batlings! Gotta' catch em' all!

My Friends

Hello Batlings!
I would like you to meet my friends!

This is my oldest friend; I have known her since the literal day I was born!
Horton T. Dollie Korah
(Yes, I Know She's A Doll; She's Still My Oldest Friend)

What Horton Likes:

Horton likes bows, dresses, and the color pink!

Horton is very brave; she is able to spend entire nights exploring under the bed.

Horton's favorite game is hide-and-seek; it will sometimes take weeks for me to find her!

Horton is very caring; she always comforts me when I'm sad.

Horton is a very good listener; I can tell her anything!

Horton is very smart; we have had many lively debates.

Horton is very tough; she has survived many trips to the washing machine.

What Horton Dislikes:

Horton hates water; it makes her too heavy to carry!

Horton hates dirt; it makes her sneeze.

Horton hates being on-planet; she'd rather be in space.

Horton hates bullies.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Horton is loyal, caring, and trustworthy; but she can never take the place of my best friends; my sisters!

(for security purposes, I can't tell you much about my sisters)

My sisters are playful, rough, and always seem to be moving.

My second youngest sister (who I will call Kitty) loves cats, is the self-proclaimed queen of animals (and everything else), and is strong enough to pick our moms up!

My youngest sister (who I will call Griffon) is very sweet, wants to be a spy when she grows up, and is a very sore loser!

Horton is my oldest friend, and my sisters will always be my best friends.

Horton wanted me to show you her pet.
Hacky The Hacky-Sack

Hacky is fun to play with and is good at stress-relieving.
Hacky is only a month old.
Hacky ran away once; we only found her again a week ago.

Star Trek: Android Emotions

Hello Batlings!
This post is for the trekkies of the world!

I have a theory; Lt. commander Data had emotions, just not human emotions.

Lt. Commander Data The Android
Data (Star Trek) - Wikipedia
(Picture From The Internet)

If you haven't seen Next Generation, than you won't really understand this theory.

Data, on several occasions, has said that he doesn't have emotions; but he's also claimed that he never uses contractions, in the same sentence that he used a contraction!

Data is always curious, he would give his life for his friends, he does not want to die, he likes Sherlock Holmes, he cares for Geordi, he once built a daughter for himself!

Curiosity, love, fear, happiness, Data feels them all, he just doesn't express them the same way we do.

Data can't be paralyzed by fear, so he believes he doesn't feel fear; Data has emotions, he just doesn't feel (or express) them the same way we do.

He has a cat named Spot; he tells his cat that she is a good kitty and a pretty kitty.

Go watch Next Generation; but THIS time, look for Data's emotions.

Data wants to be human, and he wants human emotions; what he doesn't realize is that he is an android and has android emotions.

What do you think of my theory? Comment your opinions about Data! (and please, don't be mean to robots!)

Goodbye Trekkies! 'Androids! Everyone loves androids!' -- Yoda (LOL).

Space Theory #1: A Gas Station On Mars?

Hello Batlings!
This post is for those of you who know that space travel is NOT just science fiction.
(This post is NOT a conspiracy theory about there being a gas station on mars).

Today, I would like to show you my idea for getting out of the solar system.

The Solar System With 'Gas Stations'
(I Drew This Picture. Picture NOT To Scale)

My idea goes like this:

Scientists send an automated rocket to the moon; once on the moon, the rocket will release pre-programmed robots onto the lunar surface.

The robots, using materials from the ship, will construct a basic launchpad and refueling machine.

After building the launchpad, the robots will begin to mine the surrounding area; they will convert as much as possible into rudimentary rocket fuel (and may even use the fuel and raw materials from the ship).

Another automated rocket will then be sent to land on the launchpad.

The robots will refuel the rocket, which will then launch to mars (or one of it's moons).

Once on mars (or one of it's moons), the rocket will release pre-programmed robots onto the martian surface.

After mars and it's moons have been landed upon (and the 'gas stations' have been built), the robots will continue on to the asteroid belt (and beyond); the robots will continue to mine, turning as much as possible into usable material.

Humans colonize the moon; using the launchpad. Humans next colonize mars and it's moons.

Eventually, humans will live on every habitable place in the solar system; after mining the solar system for materials, humans will then move out of the solar system (hopefully, the terraformed planets will create more space-faring societies, before the solar system's end).

That's my idea! What do you think, would it work? Please comment your opinions!

Goodbye Extraterrestrial Batlings!

Why Bats Are AWESOME!

Hello Batlings!
I have made it no secret that I. LOVE. BATS! Today, I would like to tell you about why I like bats.

Kooky Ironclaw Puzzler
(I Drew This Picture Myself )

7 Reasons To Like Bats:

1. Flight -- Although many mammals can glide (Sugar-Gliders, Flying Squirrels, etc.), bats are the ONLY known mammals to have achieved flight (without planes, that is).

2. Roosts -- While not all bat species live in groups, many species have HUGE roosts; being social is an important evolutionary trait.

3. Diversity -- 1,400 species; THAT'S how many species of bats there are (and only 3 of those are vampire bats).

4. Adorableness! -- Search 'cute fruitbats'; if the photos alone don't make you love bats, NOTHING will!

5. Diet -- Giant Flying Fox Bats are fruit eaters; vegetarians like me! (bats look so cute when eating fruit!)

6. Nocturnal -- Night over day; something bats and I have always had in common, is the fact that we prefer night over day. I'm a natural night-bat! (not all bats are nocturnal; just most of them are)

7. Echolocation -- Not all bats use sound to see in the dark (echo - Location), but all the best ones do!

And there we have it! Just some of the reasons to like bats!

Do you like bats? Why or why not? Please comment!
(it's okay if you don't like bats; everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if that opinion's wrong.)

Goodbye Fruit Batlings!

What is POTS?

Hello Batlings!
Today I want to talk about something I've mentioned before; Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (or POTS).

I know POTS has something to do with my heart rate and blood pressure; but I don't want to talk about causes, I want to talk about symptoms.

Not a lot is known about POTS, which is why most Potsies (people with POTS) don't know they even have it.

The symptoms of POTS can include:

Brain Fog (having a hard time thinking, or remembering things).
Dizziness.
Headaches.
Nausea.
Fainting or Near Fainting (especially when standing).
Irregular Heart Beat.
Weakness and Fatigue.
Sleep Problems.
Chest Pain.
Trouble Breathing.
And More!
(and yes, I have all of these; I've never fainted, but I've come close)

Some things that makes POTS worse:

Standing too long in one spot.
Too much heat.

My Little Pony: The Starswirl Will Aid In Her Escape!

Hello Batlings!
This post is for those of you who, like me, are fans of 'My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic'.
(WARNING: Spoilers ahead; anyone who has NOT seen the later seasons of MLP should NOT read this post!)

Today, I would like to tell you about my theory; Starswirl the bearded FREED Nightmare Moon!
(Spoilers begin now)

Nightmare Moon
(Picture I Got On The Internet)

To explain my theory, I want you to think about the prophecy about Nightmare's escape: 'On the longest day, of the thousandth year, the STARS will aid in her escape'.
The 'stars' could be referencing Starswirl; going with this theory, here's how MY timline goes.

My Nightmare Moon timeline:

Starswirl, in order to preserve the balance of power, puts a spell on Luna and Celestia; any spell they put on each other (banishing spell, rabbit ear spell, etc.) would be temporary (the stronger the spell, the longer it stays).

The Darkness takes over Stygian, turning him into the Pony-Of-Shadows; Starswirl and the other Pillars take the Pony-Of-Shadows with them to limbo, but a piece of the Darkness stays behind.

The Darkness finds Luna; and, using her anger to take her over, becomes Nightmare Moon!

Celestia, not wanting to hurt her sister, tries to use the elements to change Luna back; but the Darkness causes the spell to backfire, and Luna gets trapped with the Darkness for a thousand years, before Starswirl's failsafe frees her.

Then a spirit blesses a rock farmer's unborn child with magical powers, thus explaining Pinkie Pie! (oops, wrong theory!)

The reason I don't think time travel's involved, is because of Starlight Glimmer's dimensional meddling; we saw a dimension where Nightmare ruled, but in circumstances where Starswirl couldn't have been freed from limbo.

Yes, I know this is all based on the assumption that the 'stars will aid in her escape' means Starswirl, but I do make some good points.

Please comment with your own opinions!

How To Eat Sweet When Sugar-Free!

Hello Batlings!
This post is for those of you who are sugar-free, or want to be!

Picture I Drew (Keep Critiques friendly)

Today, I am here to tell you that sugar-free does NOT mean sweet-free; there are many sugar substitutes (I would recommend Stevia).

One way to find sugar-free substitutes to your favorite treats, is to search Keto diet sites; there is no law that says you have to be on Keto to eat Keto foods.
Things sold for Keto are usually sugar-free (I would still double-check); and even though I am not on Keto, I still enjoy many items sold for Keto, like slimfast.

Halotop makes many flavors of sugar-free ice-cream, including caramel! (WARNING: I could be confusing brands; do your own research before shopping!)

Please leave comments about your favorite sugar-free brands!
Goodbye Batlings! Stay healthy and sugar-free!

My Little Pony: Discord's Brother

Hello Batlings!
This post is for those of you who, like me, are fans of 'My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic'.

Discord and his brother, Patch, spirit of color and creativity

Patch is my version of what Discord's brother might look like.

The reason that Patch is the spirit of creativity, rather than something like destruction, is because I do NOT believe Discord is the spirit of pure chaos; I think discord is the spirit of creative chaos.

Discord has two legs, two arms, two wings, two horns, and two eyes; this order proves that Discord CAN'T represent pure chaos.
In fact, nothing can be pure chaos; there is always order, no matter how small, within chaos (vice versa, nothing can be pure order either).

Discord likes to have fun (ice-skating, house of cards, practical jokes, etc.); and he is very creative (cotton candy clouds, checkered hills, sneezing pinata, need I go on?).

With this in mind, I believe that Discord's more predictable behaviors (being protective of Fluttershy, making sarcastic comments, not being able to wait for guys' night, etc, etc.) can be explained by him NOT representing chaos, but chaotic creativity.

What do you think? Please comment why or why not you agree with my theory (and maybe some discord theories of your own?).

Goodbye Flutter-Batlings!

Juggler The Bat

Hello Batlings!
Today I would like you to meet...
Juggler T. Batball

Her real name is June, but Juggler's a better fit, don't you think?

Juggler grew up in her family's circus, where she learned how to juggle, tightrope (upside down), and much more!

Juggler works in her family's circus, but she's an astronomer on the side.

(June/Juggler is NOT based on any real person(s) or event(s); any similarities between June/Juggler and real world person(s) and/or event(s) is purely coincidental)

Goodbye Batlings! Please comment if you like Juggler!

Evolution Theory #2: Yots And Hoys

Hello Batlings!

Today, I want you to imagine two intelligent species; one bigger, stronger, and with more stamina, the another smaller, smarter, and more cunning.

Let’s call the two species Yots and Hoys.

The Yots and Hoys would perhaps develop a symbiotic relationship:
Thanks to their greater size, strength, and stamina, the Yots would do more of the heavy work; they would give the Hoys rides (in this theory, they are quadrupeds), move massive objects, and do more things that the Hoys would be incapable of doing themselves.
The Hoys, on the other hand, would do more of the more scientific/precision work; they would do surgery, designing, and other things the large, quadrupedal Yots just couldn't do.

There would, of course, be exceptions; every intelligent species would have people fit for designing and people fit for construction; but, on the whole, that’s how I think two such species would evolve together.
Or they would destroy each other; the only surviving members either parting ways, or learning to co-operate to fight off extinction.

Just something to think about; do you have any ideas for symbiotic relationships between intelligent species? If so, please comment!

Goodbye Batlings!

My Sugar-Free Philosophy

Hello Batlings! My name is Ari Korah, and today I would like to talk about that addictive, sweet, rot-your-teeth substance, sugar

Actually, about why I no longer eat it.

I have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), I will talk more about that in another post; for now, all you need to know about it is that sugar makes it worse, way worse.

POTS is not the reason I quit sugar; I stopped before I even knew I had POTS.

I always knew the health risks of eating sugar; shorter life, rotting teeth, less energy, etc. But, like many children, I got caught up in the idea of sugar being a special treat, something sweet and 'fun' to eat.

I spent years trying to stop eating sugar; but every time I tried, my sisters would get some sugary treat or other, and I would feel obligated to get a treat myself.

This continued for, as I said, years; until, one day, I just stopped.

Since I stopped eating sugar, I've had more energy, I've felt better, and my overall health has improved; my mom's actually trying to go sugar-free too, as are my sisters (kinda, well, not really).

And I haven't even stopped eating my favorite treats; I eat HaloTop ice-cream, a sugar-free alternative, as well as sugar-free types of cookies, cheesecake, and even peppermint patties!

Goodbye Batlings! Comment if you are sugar-free, or if you are planning to be!

The Trail Of The Frost Fairies

Hello Batlings!
I happen to have two amazing younger sisters; and, like all big sisters, I like to make up stories for them.

Today, I would like to share one of the stories I made, for my youngest sister, about the 'Frost Fairies'.

Across from my house, there is a little green dog-walk, with bushes lined up in a row; at early wintertime, after most the frost has melted in the morning, there is still a path of frost by the bushes (in reality, caused by the bushes' shadows).

"The frost path" I told my sister "is caused by the Frost Fairies,  following their queen; and, if we walk the trail to it's end and back, whisper a wish, and then jump off the path, the wish just might come true".

(obviously, that's not word-for-word what I said, but I can't remember what I did say, so I'm just telling you the gist of it, but in a poetic way).

I just meant this as a one-time thing, but now it's a winter tradition to walk the trail of the Frost Fairies.

This is just one of the fun little games my sisters and I play, and I plan on telling you about more of them; but, for now, it's goodbye, Batlings!

Evolution Theory #1: A Hairy Hypothesis

Hello Batlings!

Ever notice those tiny hairs that grow on your arms? (or big hairs, depending on your gender and hormone balance); on me, most of those hairs are white, with a few patches being black.
Remember, humans most likely had fur at one point, so the difference in coloration points to different markings, probably for identification, camouflage, and mating.

Now look at your head; you most likely have hair on it, hair which is not any of the colors you would find on your arms, right?
Our head-hair is very different from fur; it can grow insanely long, it does not shed, and it takes a lot of upkeep to remain healthy.

My theory? Just like many beasts, humans had a large, sticks-out-like-a-sore-thumb, hard-to-take-care-of, thing.
More specifically, a ‘mane’ of sorts, which would be bigger and a different color than the rest of the fur; the ‘mane’ would most likely be used for one, or more, of the following:

1. Mating: The ‘mane’ requires a lot of upkeep, meaning those with the healthiest manes would have a lot of time for upkeep, suggesting that they were good at getting food, staying alive, etc.
Examples: many animals display their colors, plumage, or manes during mating dances, such as birds of paradise.

2. Rank: Many beasts use manes, or similar things, to express their rank, age, and maturity.
Examples: Gorillas, with their silver-backs, or lions, with their manes.

3. Family: Humans are more likely to have a similar hair color and/or type to other family members, suggesting that the human ‘mane’ could have been used to identify family groups.
Examples: Dog patterns, zebra stripes, the fact that two blond-haired people will be more likely to have a blond-haired child.

4. Temperature: The ‘mane’ could have been used to regulate temperature, explaining why hair will get darker or lighter depending on the average amount of sunlight.
Examples: Look it up! Hair really does change color depending on the temperature (at least, that’s how it’s always worked in my family); hair style and length can play into it as well.

5. Senses: Long hair has already been proven to help with the ability to track, and to sense the world around them.
Examples: A group of trackers was hired by the military, which meant they had to cut their hair; after their hair was cut, they lost most of their tracking ability (please, DON’T take my word for it, look it up).
